Description
I had the concept for this one jotted down on a piece of paper in my sketchbook, finally decided to go for it. All the chess pieces and board were created in the freeware open-source modeling program "Wings3D". I rendered in Bryce, (11 hour render!) and postworked in PSP7.

Yes, very good lighting only the contrast between 'black' & 'white' could be a bit stronger in my opinion. Never the less great render !

Nice image.

the glowing around the pawns and the lights are beauuuuuuuuutiful. you completely got rid of bryce's standard-3Dish feel. it kind of reminds me of a game called BattleChess for the Mac where the pawns actually fight each other before killing each other. excellent piece of work, i really like it :)

Youve got some really interesting art in here... it was hard to pick one to comment on coz theyre all awesome... even the 2d. Youre quite an artist. I really like this one tho... simple yet profound... the atmosphere is perfect and its so real, but almost enchanted... like its a chess set of the gods.
