Yep - Sears is pretty much history.... Kinda sad. I remember so many trips to Sears with my folks when I was a kid, and many hours my wife and I spent in Sears getting everything from clothing to tools, to stuff for our car. Our local Sears closed up a back in 2019. Had a good friend that worked there - got our last 'fridge from him. Now it's gone. Haven't heard from him since - hope he's ok...
Sears Roebuck & Co. and Montgomery Wards. Two American icons, gone forever. Sad times.

A real tragedy, the one near me just finished closing last month... I bought a lot of things there. sure going to miss them.

Sad. Bought the very best winter coat I ever owned at a Sears - long ago. Never again. 😢

striking shot of a store gone empty---we really feel its emptiness---it's actually sterile in a way, and you captured the low looming ceiling with those pillars, shadows, etc. It's a beige shot, but your shadow-play makes it very dramatic. And I like that you shot this from a distance---lots of space before the pillars start---so the pillar'd area looks like an oasis. I love this shot. An american icon emptied of all its life...
