I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

Might be a while... I'm done posting until they get something done about this ridiculous gallery flooding. And from what I've seen so far it doesn't look like anyone at Rendo's management gives a damn...

grand image!
there used to be limits... Prime members could do 10 as I recall.
RodS Online Now!
Exactly. And they need to be implemented again. I've posted about this issue in the community forum, but it seems like no one cares.. πͺ

I thought if you were not a premium member, you were limited to 5 posts a day, but if you are a premium member, I don't know if there is a limit! I do agree there needs to be some kind of limit even on the premium members if that is the case. 50 or more is way too excessive IMHO! Like your pin-up image, Rod! A very nice render!

The basis of the problem is this: Members get 3 reward points for each upload. I just got 3 points for this image. So if someone uploads 50 images, that's 150 reward points. The present system ENCOURAGES people to flood the galleries. And no one in management seems to be interested in addressing it. So we have to wade through a flood of spam images because someone wanted to grab a bunch of reward points.

There's always stinker that will make things difficult for others...I too have been taking a break primarily since this Covid thing has unkindly given me some lingering effects, primarily fatigue. Anyway, keep the faith that someone, someday, will actually address the gallery flooding.

Sounds like they're trying to inflate the numbers of their site activity. Never know. Oh, and leeeegs!

I have a feeling that I don't understand what the issue is. Seems to me the answer to UNFOLLOW members who flood with silly stuff. As I said, maybe I don't get what the problem is or why that gets in the way of what we do.
RodS Online Now!
Hey, Jim... It's just a matter of one person being very discourteous to all the artists here by flooding the galleries with excessive numbers of uploads. Like over 50 in one sitting. Probably for the reward points (just a guess on my part..)
Fear not - I'll be back sooner than later...
lwperkins
Maybe because you get reward for uploads? (looks thoughtful) I just go by my ebots, so I am not sure what is going on out there :D

I think that's a big part of it, Lynn. Like I said on Radar's post, they're encouraging people to upload massive amounts of images with the present system. π€

I fully agree with you RodS, it was better once when after the second image you had to pay. I would say that we should set a limit to the publication. Sorry for my English Great job as always my dear friend ππββοΈ

As somebody who struggles to get the time to create one picture a week, I fully agree with you. Take whatever break you need, and I'll look forward to seeing what you create when you return.

Wow, Rod! This is sexy alright! Fine work Sir!

with you, starship and others, it takes me a long time to do a piece too, so I can appreciate the insult of someone posting tons of pieces in one sitting. (The little tale I posted a few days ago---it took 10 sittings over 2 weeks to do, and it was maybe 2 pages long. So I understand.) I appreciate your frustration. Rod. I hope your hiatus is restful for you, and that you can go further with your preparations to move. I wish you all the best.
You captured your pinup relaxing after a hard day, stretching out and looking down, composed beautifully across your frame as always. Expert outfit and shoes and posture and hair, and she's got the perfect posture, facing the wall but turning her head downwards the other direction. I know you're leaving because of the multi-post issue, but I imagine you can use a break just like your model here, and I hope it's a good one Rod. Perfect image for your theme---I guess we have to live with people who use the site for numbers and fame...as long as we keep up the other side of posting, theirs will be overshadowed. (Selfish games of others...) Have a good break, and your fans will all miss you while you're gone.

I love your image dear Rod. but i do understand you. Some times it's to much to look at so many images from one person. I make at the moment about 1 image in a week. I will miss you my friend, but take a break as long as you want. Greetings Adrie.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I also saw that avalanche of images posted and wondered how someone thought it was a great idea to post so many! Is there a script that allows you to post such rapid succession of uploads? I don't post very often as my animations take so long to do...I was just pleased that I did not get caught up and sandwiched in between this individuals images! What ever happened to quality before quantity? :-(
UteBigSmile
Your right my friend, take a break from Renderosity for a while, I totally agree with you! ππ When you see all the games being played here, you really run out of steam, your graphics look great, but the office desk is missing the coffee shop, the cell phone and the nail polish!

I agree with your frustration. Have time away, if you need to. Your pinup here is gorgeous, she looks like she takes care of herself, you can do the same.

i'm glad i don't have that artist faved Rod and did not notice the numerous posts myself. yeah 5 a day by one is too many for me myself. but 50 is down right insane. a great older image my friend. i'm giving up on comments over at DA, only two people comment so i might not even post there also? when i first joined rendo years ago, paid members were allowed 5 only and others like me only were allowed three. maybe bring this back. i do three a week, sometimes 4-5 on a rare week. hope to see you soon back.

I have to agree. Flooding the Zone with sameness to a fault isn't creative and is a bit much. This comment is not aimed at artist's who enjoy a single genre and post in that genre. That is very different.
My thoughts ... First, Site Mail the admin's as you have done. They need to have a "Come to Jesus" talk with the individual.(2) If it continues, comment 50 times (1 per image) on how boring it is getting and encourage them to reach out to the next level on their artwork.
I wish you the best and i am sure we will meet up elsewhere. However, you leaving need not happen. The people who follow you are the ones that lose out on viewing your art. I, and them I am sure, are totally appreciative of the time and effort you put in.

Not leaving, just taking a break for a (very) short time. I'll be back sooner than later...π And I love your idea of commenting once on each image they post. I might try that next time someone does that (hopefully there won't be a need...).

I like how your character seems to be admiring her perfect pantyhose. Not a run in sight!
I agree with you and others about the problem of "gallery flooding." Those who only see new renders by viewing their "activity" feed aren't necessarily affected by the issue, unless they "follow" the flooder. But I imagine lots of people view new renders simply by starting with the top level Gallery link, which shows everything with the newest items first. Although I'm open to viewing renders made in other apps, I stopped using the top level Gallery link as a starting point and now use the Poser gallery, mainly to avoid some kinds of flooding (esp. what looks like promo images for products for sale). But of course it still happens even in this gallery.
One obvious solution is to offer the "gallery upload" reward points to only ONE render per 24 hour period. Seems like that might be easier to implement than user-based upload limits.
RodS Online Now!
Yeah, that's how I stumbled into that mess - using the "New Uploads" link. I generally just use the link for artists I'm following - and now the ebots since they're working - but sometimes I like to just browse to see what other great art is out there. I've ended up following many artists after discovering their work that way. It's a tad annoying when you have to wade through 50 uploads just because someone wants a bunch of reward points!
