Well, I hope she's a speed reader :) Beautifully crafted scene--reminds me that I have a few books I should crack :)

wow barb: you just did a perfect photo of my living room! (Well, minus the female, lol...and the cat...otherwise, it's a carbon copy.) Love this pic. I actually want to ask you, how did you get the books to balance that well??? (It's a picture, Mark, she didn't actually balance the books...) Love the configuration, that is one pile-up of books. And you have an old, old desk, with a foldover portfolio (or briefcase), a great old lamp, and those great old shudders...and the woman is spread out perfectly in-line with the image---she spans the whole right 2/3's perfectly. Love those bare feet on the books too, and the light: a very dark image with very intense light (right out of the 16th and 17th C), and deep/rich reds, olive yellows, wood tones...love it, Barb, I luv this image. Always a treat when you post.
(and btw, I said "carbon copy"---god, am I that old??? did I just give away the fact that I was born in the early 1800s? when's the last time you used "carbon paper"??? no doubt about it, I gotta get out more...)

I'm re-reading the Game Of Thrones books since i forgot most of the original story, lol. At least I'll be caught up if George R R Martin ever finishes the last books, This year maybe, keeping my fingers crossed.
A glass of wine and a good book, sometimes that's enough... ;)

OK - this is the girl that got through The Hobbit, and Lord Of The Rings in one sitting, right? If not, she's gonna be there for a very long time! That's quite the reading list! LOL
What a delightful and really relaxing scene here, Barb. I love it. I used to read a lot, but with my eyes not being as young as they once were, it's more of a challenge.. Most of my reading these days is on a computer monitor..
Wolfenshire
Did you sneak into my den and take a pic? Yep, that's what my reading list looks like.
UteBigSmile
Indeed a lot to read dear Barb, with a Kindle you wouldn't have such mountains of books, if the stacks topple over, you have extra work to rearrange them all - Smile!
Radar_rad-dude
Looks like quite the steady endeavor ahead of this pretty little Miss! Hope she enjoys reading! LOL! Marvelous work and fine assemblage of interesting items! Most delightful viewing pleasure!!!

I used to be an avid reader like that...until the advent of the PC and then Streaming (sigh)...actually I just bought my first book in a decade on Amazon "Zeroglyph" by Vance Pravat now I gotta cut out some time to read it.

Your model is not going to get bored for the week-end, considering the piles of unread books that are standing before her. A superb and charming composition, full of positive energy !
