Description

The third preview image of a new version of my Table of Five series. Galen is a sorcerer, an arcane spellcaster with the innate ability to understand and use magic, who was raised on a small farmstead outside Silverymoon but was sent to the Lady's College to learn how to control his gift after he nearly burned down his family's home by accident. This version of the Table of Five series is more of a reinvention then a revisiting... several of the characters, including Galen, are significantly different than previous versions. In previous versions of this series Galen was a wizard, an arcane magic-user who learned to use magic from years of study and was one of the more serious characters in the group. This time around he will be more free-wheeling and impulsive, with less respect for the awesome power he can wield... which will of course lead to trouble. I like the magic between his fingers. The story line seems very interesting.

Thank you for your kind comment! I used a prop from an older set called Jeepee's bolt props... but I can't remember if I got from here or DAZ. I'm making (slow) progress on the actual series, but it will likely still be some time before I have it done and can start posting. I truly appreciate everyone's patience.

Very nice. I did a few D&D chars for friends and it can be a real hoot. Have you tried Area lights yet? In Superfly render it is great.

Thanks again for all your kind comments! I usually use my own custom lights which I try to match to the backgrounds... I tried using various forms of pre-made light sets, but was never really satisfied with the results.

Looking good. I can see the mark on his forehead better here. Is that done with a displacement map, or is it on the skin texture? And his expression says I'm, powerful and I know it. Definitely gonna get into trouble

Thanks again for all your kind comments! The mark is a skin texture that's supposed to only be applied to the ambient color with a bright blue color, but I matched the color to his skin texture and applied it as a bump map as well to try and get the effect if a brand.
