Description
Egyptians tried to prepare the body for eternal life.....yet, they plucked out the brain. (They did a pretty good preservation job otherwise.)

Egyptian culture has always intrigued me. Many year back I saw "The Golden Age Of Egypt'. It was 3 floors of museum works housed in Boston. Amazing. From their furnishings, the were a tiny people in relation to our current proportions. Well done.

Great scene and render, Linda...I like how you've depicted your "Horus" and the priestess. The special effect for the rising body is well done too, as is how you've handled the burial chamber.
Now for a bit of Egyptology: The brain was inconsequential to the ancient Egyptians and would further corrupt the body in death since it could not successfully be embalmed. So it was removed. It was the heart that was the center of intelligence for them, and it always remained in the body during embalming so it could remain with the deceased to help guide him/her in the afterlife. The heart was also important in the ritual of weighing the heart against the feather of Ma'at. If the heart proved to be pure, that is it weighed less than the feather, the deceased could proceed to the afterlife. If it weighed more, well the heart would be consumed by the monster Ammit--no afterlife.

Maybe that's why so many risen mummies are mindless zombies! (Notwithstanding Goldie's excellent summary above - the subject of a series of renders I did a while back)
Excellent work.
