Description
The Alien Collector is doing a lot of sales work traveling from island kingdom to
island kingdom, dealing with the local rulers. At each kingdom, he brings out a huge
chest full of bobbles and trinkets, mostly plastic and glass, but sparkly enough
to dazzle the eyes of these small time potentates. These gullible little rulers love
looking at sparkly things. He has traded many chests for items far in excess of the
value of his practially worthless chest of glass and plastic.
The Alien Collector is in search of the location of the rare mineral, the one that
has unparalleled powers and uses called unobtainium. Rare amounts of it have been
located throughout the galaxy. The lucky few that have obtained it horde it very
closely. The Alien Collector wants some for himself. He has heard rumors that there
is a quantity of it here on this planet. So far, he hasn't found any of it.
But as luck would have it, here we see him dealing with another small time tin
dictator/king. Of course the little fellow is curious as to what is inside the chest.
'Set the chest down and open it!' he tells his hammerhead bots. They dutifully comply
with his order.
No sooner is the lid flung open than the little king is down there running his hands
through the glass costume jewelry and bobbles and dew dads. He is totally smitten
by the glitter and glam of this sham merchandise.
'Might I inquire?' asks the Alien Collector. 'Does your kingdom have a mineral with
these properties?' and the Collector has one of his bots project a halogram of a
sample of the mineral unobtainium before the little king. The clarity is such that
the king recognizes it readily.
'Why there is a small deposit of it out in the back reaches of my kingdom. We have
been mining that site for years and have been throwing it away. Oh er, I mean, we
have been storing it in the hopes it might have some value some day.' he fudges
after seeing the gleam in the Alien Collector's eyes.
A quick round of negotiations pursues. The little king brings his counselor, the
Monkey Monk, into the frey. The Monk advises caution to the little king. To wait
and check out the credentials of the Collector before making any deal, but with
the bobbles shining constantly in the little king's eyes, he is in no position to
be making any sane deals.
He and the Collector finally arrive at a tentative deal. The Collector will be
shown the mine and take some samples back to his space vehicle for verification.
Once the mineral is confirmed to be unobtainium, the king will trade a few tons
of it for whats in the box, er ah, treasure chest. LOL. What a deal. Does it get
any better than that?
The Alien Collector is licking his lips in anticipation of getting his own stash
of the rare mineral. The little king assembles a crew to guide the Collector out
to the mine. He informs the Collector it will likely take them about a week to
get out there and back. This is no problem for the Collector. He feels he has
everything under control. His ship in orbit is in good hands.

What could possibly go wrong.......... Oh, my...... I can't think of a thing.... 😜 I do know of a few "someones" that would be most interested in that unobtanium.. And I have a fresh, hot intelligence report that indicates there may also be Kyber Crystals present there.. Hummmmmmm........
Hey, I know of one of those tin-plated, dictator/king guys (well, maybe a wanna-be dictator/king guy) with all the intelligence of an eggplant that I'll bet A.C. could make a fortune off of... LOL
You're taking this tale to some wild, crazy, and fun angles, Bill! I'm diggin' it!

I'm not sure the Alien Collector realizes he's dealing with a Pixel and MaGenta's gonna be on his case too. He's collecting enemies as fast as cars :D

Wow awesome story! I did a search on Google and this is how it describes this rarity the Alien Collector is after...Unobtainium is any hypothetical, fictional, or impossible material, but it can also mean a tangible but extremely rare, costly, or reasonably unobtainable material. Fantastic way to insert it into your story...I thought it was a made up word! Your imagination has no end...you come up with some great stories! Enjoying what you are doing! :-)
