I think it actually is good that you did not change the watercolor to match the ice (as you describe), yes those long rendertimes can be a bit anoying at times ;-) I really like the result, beautiful winter feeling, and I agree with Margit1.

Sieht doch sehr ordentlich aus und die ergge von Ufer/See wirken auch nicht abrupt, also hat es ja funktioniert; eine kleine Anregung: probiere doch mal, den Hell-/Dunkelkontrast zu erhen, denn insgesamt wirkt das Bild doch recht hell; solche Kontrastverbesserungen haben oft ungeahnt positive Auswirkungen auf die Ausstrahlung/Wirkung eines Bildes. Auf jeden Fall hat sich die Renderzeit gelohnt!
