Description
(a summer seed...)
I have to take some time off for my arm, etc. I hope to be back soon, but I'll need a little time. Nothing serious, just necessary.
Thank you for your wonderful responses to my Memorial Day piece, everyone: I greatly appreciated your great kindness as well as your experiences. Very grateful. And you can share your experiences anytime you wish: They're always welcome here.
2 (unwitting) deletions:
1) I left out Mike (Faemike55) from the list of those who've served: Mea culpa, Mike, I never knew.
Mike was in the navy from 1973 to 1986 (!!!), and served on the USS Enterprise CVAN/CVN 65. His ship participated in the evacuation of Saigon in April of 1974 (talk about being part of history!): Bows, Mike. I am impressed.
2) Also, a couple of you rightfully reminded me that Memorial Day is for the war dead. You're absolutely right. I think I make it for all vets because there are so few days when veterans are honored, so I've always treated Memorial and Veterans Day as equals. But I do honor its original purpose. I'll have a few more stories of civilians of war as well as time goes on...
Finally:
June 5th (Saturday) is Rod's and Jo's 50th Anniversary: I knew the date, but didn't know it was the 50th: A Golden Anniversary---that's huge---so please join me in sending them a huge hug! I have several dedis coming up, and I'll include you Rod. (They'll all be late, but better late than never.) Many more wonderful years to both of you!
Happy summer everyone (meteorological summer begins now, so it's the right time). Thanks for all your kindness, truly, and I wish you all a great early june. Hope to see you soon! m

Hey, Mark. Again, you have come up with an image that is beautiful and, in this case, very calming to the soul. Take care of your arm and come back to us soon.

you should take all the time needed for healing Mark, your friends will always be here for you. i don't have a list of all my friends here that served. i thought a few years ago you did because of your memorial day stories which you explain in fine detail and gives the impression you served. your gifted allot in writing my friend and photo captures. happy anniversary to Rod and Jo, thanks for the heads up. 50th that is so amazing since lots of marriages don't come close to that number. need to see your memorial day one. take care and thank you.

A beautiful and light-filled graphic to go along with your (always) wonderful words, Mark! You, good sir, take all the time you need to heal up, and ..... umm......... well........ "re-arm." OK, I know that was awful. I blame those ornery bad gods you spoke of earlier, and their bad jokes. They goaded me into it. With pointy things. Really...
And that's one reason it's so amazing that one woman could stand me for so long.... LOL She's been a beacon of light in my life - one that has never dimmed...

Get healed, take enough time that it's truly better.

Loverly posting of the milky representation of a seed of questionable origin, Mark. Possibly depicts the initial phase of gestation. From whence doth this seed take effect?, or something like that. Then again, perhaps this image is actually a hazy map showing multi colored shadings of feet above sea level. And 50 years of wedded bliss? Sounds like science fiction from my personal experience. Anyway, heal up, my friend. Healing for those above seventy years of age, takes forever.
