Chiana and Walter were the first two to have met Linda, and their interactions with her were, well, a little off-color but really no big deal. I did find out a little later that Linda was a bully. She had bullied both Chiana and Walter into doing with her what she wanted. But, it didn’t stop there. Linda went after Soon-Li and tried to bully her into staying away from Chiana by threatening her. If she didn’t there would be ‘severe consequences’. Soon-Li, not one to be frightened, ignored Linda and her threats. A couple of the other girls were approached by Linda and told to refuse any jobs assigned to them, that she was my favorite. And when Brandy, for example, said it was up to me (GD) to decide who does what and when, Linda grabbed her by the wrist and twisted it so hard she almost broke it. Soon-Li heard about this, and decided to fight back. So you can imagine my surprise when I found Linda locked up in a cage normally used for circus animals. When I inquired about why Linda was locked in the cage Soon-Li approached me and enlightened me about Linda’s bullying, threats made to her and what she did to Brandy. In short, she told me everything that had been going on. When I asked why no one had come to me, Soon-Li explained the others feared for their own safety because of what Linda might do to them if she knew they talked. I heard enough; this kind of behavior had to be stopped now. So I confronted Linda and asked if she had done all these things, and Linda confessed. She said yes, she had done all those things. I didn't ask her why, I just told her, in no uncertain terms, that either she clean up her act and stop bullying the others or she would be banished, forever. Sobbing, she promised she wouldn’t behave like that anymore. And, so far, she’s kept to her word.
