Hearing footsteps, Hailey cautiously opened the door of her room and peered outside. She saw a figure in a black maid's uniform.
“Hello, sorry if I startled you. I’m Matilda, the housekeeper here. Sorry I wasn’t here to meet you. Your arriving early took us by surprise. Let me know if you need anything. I hope you have a good rest tonight.”
Hailey is far from certain. At least she isn’t alone in the house, but the spooky looking housekeeper has such a penetrating gaze….
