Description
Part of an old series I did awhile back. This is right from the beginning of the story - the first Martian cylinder in its crater on Horsell Common.

I visited Horsell for the first time last year, and was surprised by the large pit in the centre of the pine tree section. It made me feel for a moment that it had been a real story! Nice work, especialy in adding the black crust that the book describes
