Thanks for looking!
I found these three statue png images. Then I found the background.
I fiddled with the components a bit and came up with my interpretation of our pandemic lives.
Stay smart and stay safe out there.
Made in Gimp with png tubes, photos, and brushes.
background: ntnvne, man: momentmal, women: ntnvne, baskets: mariagriff,
birds: openclipart, building: gellinger, grass: wolverine, sand (curtain): frees

Some places will be buried in sand, others under water. A haunting image... ;)

Very surreal and very nicely done.

Very appropriate and well done, Barb!
Between the pandemic, and the political 3-ring circus in this country, I think we'll be digging out for a very long time..

Personally I think we should take our time digging out of the pandemic quagmire. It's taken over a year to get "close" to beating this thing and you know what they say about "close" it only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades and bull sh!t. It's gonna take some time we ain't done with the fight yet not by a long shot...be safe and think of others

barb, this is amazing...it doesn't only evoke the pandemic's aftermath (which is big enough): It has an apocalyptic, mythic quality, like something out of a vast legend...One of the women is bent over as if grieving---and you light her beautifully. The other looks as if she's looking for release or redemption. They kneel too, which feels charged with a religious intensity. The man---a medic or soldier maybe---is slowly digging out a garment: what an image. Who did it belong to? Where did it come from...From what you wrote, you seemed to let your images dictate where to go...and what a vision you came up with. Those towers and steeples---with people/statues atop: We don't know who they are/were. And the body of the temples are sunken in sand and debris...In the left background, a gate---medieval maybe, but it could also be a N.England structure (by H.H. Richardson, if you know the name---he built a lot of structures that looked like this in NEngland): It just sits there like a gate to we-know-not-where. And then your usual birds, which always portend a further world...Your light is the finishing touch---apocalyptic, bleak, but with hope: Hope's in the light on the far right, and those tell-tale pinks (something good and filled with life), as well as in the 3 people. You made a pandemic 'pieta', a plea and prayer with surrender and hope. It's really monumental, even though it's eerily intimate. Terrific piece barb. Man, what comes out of you...really moving.

Fantastic image! But I don't understand the interpretation of this image. Probably I am an optimistic. Of course I take care of hygiene. Stay safe!

Sort of... digging out of the endlessness of the virus (and climate change and any struggle really) that keeps rolling in, covering us, covering the world. We keep fighting and struggling but the battle keeps continuing. Good people don't give up, even if we have to move tons of "stuff" with small baskets, we keep on moving forward with hope that we can clean the world. There is hope; the sky is clearing and the birds are in flight so life does go forward and life does get better. I have hope. I have faith. ...
You stay safe, too!
