definatly loving this, maybe a bit more water transparency, fire looks like its coming from nowhere also, but definatly a sweet image, nice work

Very good but the gun ports seem a bit low for the draft of the ships.

The only comment I can make is that the lighting isn't quite there yet, but otherwise: very impressive.

Let me thank you all as one artist to another for your constructive criticism. As you can see, based on some of your critiques, Ive altered the image. I hope to be adding other images for everyones viewing pleasure and Im looking forward to seeing more of your fantastically marvelous artistic contributions.

Here's some (I hope) constructive critisism:
The scale looks somehow wrong to me. They "feel" like toys or something. Maybe it's the FOV, try moving your camera closer and widening the viewing angle (a.k.a. dollying your camera)

I wouldn't put more transparency on the water because in that weather with the water in that state you wouldn't be able to see far into it anyway. Hmm looks like the water isn't refracting, but that could be me :)

I'm also missing some bowwaves around the ship. Right now the ships don't interact with the water. According to the wind at least the left ship should be moving at quite a pace leaving waves/distortions in the water.

That being said, you're on your way to making this a great image. Keep it up.

They'er both done for. They will smash into each other in a couple seconds ;o) A little bump on the water will rough it up some. I like the water mat. I use it a few times when I used to use bryce. This image still caught my eye. Keep it up :)

I personally have the feeling that the scale of the water or the texture for the water is too big, and I agree that the fire has to come from something, but I like the overall render, the positioning of the ships, so that you can't immediately see that it is a cloned ship, the different flags, the light from the fire on the ships etc.

nu-be, I have deliberately made sure that the flags do not reflect any ethnicity. 3DGuy, I would agree, theres something wrong with the scalewhat it has to do is with what Ariaans has to say about it being either the water or the textureactually, its the texture size. But! I had experimented with it and found that if I scaled the texture down any further, it starts to look like layered cake on the upper half of the mesh, and to my eyes, seemed less acceptable. I have provided the bow waves and wake. Lon Chaney, you are absolutely right and hardly no one else noticed, the ship at right is being rammed, thats why the ship on right is firing prematurely (and misfiring) hoping to take down the advancing ship. Ariaans, You are absolutely rightthe ship at right is a clone of the ship at left. It was my way (technique) to show both sides of the same model in one image. I would like to thank you all for your interest. Thank you!

I think it's the lighting that makes this pic look a bit 'toyish'. It seems that there're only two lights: one the fire which illuminates the sails on BOTH ships, and somewhere another. I think it should be much more balanced, i.e. more and/or diffuser light sources, or GI. And maybe a bit of haze (fog) might improve the overall atmosphere and put it closer to stormy weather conditions (it's too is to do that in Bryce:))). But it's 10 points:)
