after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve

"Horse with No Name" was an episode of "Breaking Bad," and I know the song uses 'horse' as the old pseudonym for Heroine. (When I was younger, most people just called it "H".) This is a really powerful, scary evocation of the mood of the song, and I love that woman with the purple eyes---and again, your color coordination: her eyes and outfit are purple, and the few eyes throughout the image are purple. That's almost all the color you have here, so it really stands out. (Your sky is a beautiful muted green-gray, but otherwise the image is in blacks, grays and whites. So the purples are wonderful accents.)
You've got her perched against a mass of armor and skeletons and skulls and all kinds of creepy stuff. Like a nightmare drug trip (evocative of the song name). And you've composed your model in the perfect spot---a little off-center, and dominating this huge array of beastly ghosts and skeletons and darkness. Terrific job, Steve. It really demands full size too, because your detail is really rich.
Steve, I'm at nearly an hour in your (wonderful) gallery, so I have to stop. (There are still artists I haven't gotten to at all.) But I'll be back soon for the rest...(as of this writing, I have 5 more to comment on, to catch up). Amazingly vivid work. I hope you're doing well; I'll be in touch soon to see how you are. Happy july to you and your loved ones!

Sorry I missed this. This is wicked cool! The touches of purple with all that black and gray, looks amazing. Perfect title from the song, too. Excellent work, Steve!
