Description
A small petite figure shrouded in a silvery-grey hooded cloak seemed to materialize out of the shadows right before them. But when she moved to lower her hood, revealing a skirted shirt of fine silvery chain-mail, beautiful features cast in ink black skin, silvery-white hair held back in a long pony-tail and eyes of bright ruby red, both men were shocked by the sight.
“A drow… here!” Tarl roared as he raised his great axe, ready to charge, even though she seemed to be unarmed save for a dagger.
“Easy, my friend,” Aeron warned the dwarf off, putting a hand on his shoulder to hold him back. He’d recognized the amulet hung at her throat, the depiction of a female drow with long flowing hair dancing naked before the full moon with a silvery bastard sword. Addressing the dark elf he stated more than asked; “You serve Eilistraee.”
“I do. You know of the Dark Maiden?” Faeryl replied in surprise. Even this close to the Mouth of Song, their temple in the heart of the nearby forest, few knew of her goddess.
“I encounter another priestess of your faith in the depths of the Moonwood,” Aeron advised her, before turning back to the dwarf, who was still poised to attack; “It’s alright. She service the goddess of good drow, who urges them to return to surface and live in harmony with all peaceful races.”
“What? Good drow… has there ever been such a thing?” Tarl sneered, keeping his axe at the ready, although he brazenly ogled her lithe nubile body with its feminine curves and full ripe charms.
“I mean no harm, master dwarf,” she assured in an almost pleading tone. “I’m on a Run, a ritual pilgrimage, and Eilistraee lead me here with a vision of a crescent moon over a river to fulfill a purpose she’s yet to reveal to me.”
“Ha… a harmless drow. What’s the world coming to?” The dwarf retorted, but lowered his axe. He’d never had much faith in the gods, so he had his doubts about her so called vision, but then a more troubling thought occurred to him and he demanded; “Just how did you get into the city? I can’t see either the Watch or the Knights in Silver allowing a drow to enter.”
“I came through the gate north of a large busy market without challenge,” she responded sincerely. “There was quite a lot of traffic and I was hooded against the harsh sun, so perhaps the guards simply didn’t notice me. I’ve spent thirteen decades at the Mouth of Song and adapted to daylight long ago, but in the Moonwood the sun is never so severe.”
“Such is the diligence of Silverymoon’s protectors,” he huffed sarcastically. “If a drow can simply stroll through the Hunter’s Gate what’s next… a pack of savage orcs storming through the Moon Gate?”
“Regardless of the Knights’ or the Watch’s lack of attention to their duties, she’s no threat to the city… so no harm was done,” Aeron injected. “But I’m curious about what purpose Eilistraee has for you here.”
“I’m quite curious about that as well,” a male voice inquired from behind them.

For sometime now I have noticed that nearly half of the images I see posted each day are little more than advertisements for new products and many of those that don't clear describe themselves as such don't have any description at all. Has this sight become so commercialized that there's so little art being posted for art's sake? Okay... I'll get off the soapbox now... sorry for my little rant.

Quite the growing company of characters here. Looks like an unforgettable adventure for them. And us! Great writing and artwork!

Thanks again for all your kind comments! That three... or maybe four... of the five. It's always hard to come up with a plausible reason for a group of unrelated characters to come together without depending on some monumental evil to unite them.

Great chapter. Good that Aeron knew of her goddess and could trust her.

Thanks again for all your kind comments! I was going to go into Aeron's encounter with the other priestess of Eilistraee, but I decided to save that for a future "book" that I hope to do.

Cool group. Really like the Dwarf.

Thanks again for your kind comments! I went back to the old FREAK figure with a dwarf morph set for him... I just haven't been able to make a decent dwarf with M4.

Wonderfully done work all the way around. I sense you have a grand imagination and put so much of yourself into your works. Well doe.
zaqxsw
Thank you for your very kind comment! The downside of that imagination is it takes me months to put together these series and because things that I come up with when doing later parts of them sometimes change what I intended to do in earlier parts I wait to start posting until I have it all done.
