Description
Hailey was alert to the chance of a slip of some kind and caught herself on the railing, a bit shaken but not hurt.
The reader might have missed that outdoor girl Hailey is accustomed to climbing steep rocky slopes with toes and fingers, so a spiral staircase is hardly a danger to her, But Elenoir did not know this when planning the 'little accident'.

Now what excuse will Elenoir have for this little incident? She needs to have some penalties of some kind! Hailey better get down those stairs pronto before Elenoir tries something else!

There were hints earlier on that Hailey is a quite decent rock climber so she isn't in much danger on the stairs but Elenoir might have something else on her mind. And then there is Nevil.
