Description


Although the Kuiper belt is large, objects are few and far between; it's a special treat for tourists to be able to see one. This is a Vue render; the objects in the image were assembled from Vue primitives. Te Vue metablob function was used to convert two ellipsoids into a simulated contact binary, about six to twelve miles in size.

Thank you very much! I created this image based on preliminary images sent back from one of NASA's space probes (New Horizons I think). The real object turned out to be even more extreme than my simulation...
