"Robbie" came from 3D Cafe's free model section. He was a 3ds model so I converted him over to a LWO and then reduced the poly count down. I used the magnetic drag tool to apply "dent's" to the geometry, and image maps to rust him up. The background is composited in and the shadow made in Photoshop. Just a quick, fun, project!

Great image! Check out my version of the B9 in this thread... it's about 2/3 down the page: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12402&Form.ShowMessage=999642&Reply=1006024#18 If anyone needs the model in Cinema 4D format, let me know.

James Murphy in England has created a far more accurate wireframe model (though your texture maps has done wonders with the 3Dcafe mesh). Here's the link: http://www.btinternet.com/~tobor/meshes.htm Though it was never addressed as such by any of the human crew, the Robot once identified itself as "Robot Model B9." This is the name used in officially licensed merchandising. Both it and Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet" were designed by the same man, Robert Kinishita. There's even a group of hoobyists who have recreated life-sized replicas with exacting detail, even the voice triggered neon tubing! Sincerely, Bill

Guess Will Robinson got tired of its warnings. Brings back some childhood memories.

Been over 30 years since I seen this show. I know they just made a movie a few years ago, but haven't gotten around to see it. This looks great, thanks for the flash back.
