Description
Last night we head over to a sports bar/restaurant to watch the Phx-La game. I figure I’m going to stay outside on the rather spacious patio, so it’ll be fine. I got a great spot under the massive tv screen, with plenty of space between me and the next party watching the game. So, all is good. And then Phoenix wins and everyone goes nuts. Now, keep in mind, I’m sitting next door to the Gila River Arena, home of the Phoenix Coyotes, and just beyond that is the Phoenix Stadium, and I’m at only one sport bar/restaurant among dozens surrounding the two massive structures. I’m literally in the heart of Phoenix territory. So, everyone is jumping up and down screaming, and then one guy runs over and high-fives me and Ann, which I returned the high-five without any thought, and exactly one-half second before I realized what I’d just done.
So, now the game is all but forgotten and I’m yelling at Ann… where’s the hand sanitizer!!!?? But she’s already on it and searching her purse. But she didn’t have it in her purse. Yep, we’re going to die now because we barely touched another human being. Don’t you just love the fear and panic response that’s been so ingrained now that even the slightest contact with another human sends you into panic?
Okay, fast-forward 10 minutes, we pay the check, and head to the car, because I have something like 18 bottles of hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray in there, and probably no less than fifty spare masks, surgical gloves, 3 first aid kits, and…. well, enough supplies that I could probably outfit a MASH unit, or survive the Zombie Apocalypse.
And then we walk past the fountain and this….
Innocence is bliss.
I honestly don’t know how they are playing in there, the chlorine in the water was so high it was stinging my eyes just to walk past.
Still, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be so perfectly unaware, and just be normal again?

Quite the amazing night you had! Some photo! Well, the ignorance and bliss of youth etc. What can I say. Hope you survive the high five. Hope you have had both vaccines! They should protect you!

And there is the moral of my story. We shouldn't live in such fear. Mother Nature has her own way of protecting the animal kingdom. If one wolf get's sick, the pack will bring food to that wolf, but they will keep their distance, and they won't eat after that wolf. If the wolf gets better, then the pack will eat after the wolf. It's Mother Nature's way of passing the immunity to the entire pack. So, I propose that you lick your neighbor if they get better after being sick. I guarantee you won't even be thinking about the virus after the first lick... of course you might have other issues to deal with...

Such a powerful image! Glad you managed to stop your eyes stinging! lol As for all those bottles of hand sanitiser, why didn't you sell them? You'd have made a fortune! Glad you're safe!

You clearly weren't thinking. You walked right past a fountain with highly chlorinated water. Chlorine would have taken care of any germs you had on your hands and you would have been safe much sooner than getting to your car. Which you probably contaminated while retrieving the sanitizer.

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack....
And getting stranger by the day... I sincerely hope at some point in the not too distant future we can look back on all this covid stuff and say "Thank God that's in the past..."

What? No hand sanitizer within reach? Yer supposed to to carry vats of the stuff when you go out and about! I laugh but I get it, the fear and doubt and mistrust is overwhelming at times. Bless these beautiful children and their simple, carefree lives, may they be safe, too.
