Description

The envoys were tossed about as their craft plummeted in an uncontrolled descent. The main power provided by a contained microscopic black hole or collapsar was offline having been damaged by a lightning strike. The emergency backup power was insufficient to maintain internal inertial stability but was sufficient to prevent the craft from breaking up. Finally the craft came to rest. The battered envoys were scattered throughout the control compartment like discarded rag dolls. Finally, the security officer, Alpha, regained consciousness and looked around the compartment at the inert bodies of her companions. "Prime? Beta? Are you OK?" Although the envoys humanoid bodies were enhanced both biologically and cybernetically the beating they had just experienced was considerable. Alpha's hopeful enquiry was met with groans of ascent as the other two envoys also regained consciousness. Molly's art notes: A little retro sci fi for a change! Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.500 using the Superfly Cycles 2 rendering engine and then tweaked a bit in Photoshop (mainly to add a subtle vignette). The ship is Cybertenko's discplane with a few material tweaks (I didn't like the glass in the dome). The characters are all DAZ generation 3 dollies: V3 improved by Blackhearted's GND 2 morphs and textures, SP improved by Blackhearted's Irina 2 morphs and textures and Aiko 3 improved with some stuff from DAZ. All of the character textures were optimized for Superfly with Snarlygribbly's EZSkin 3 (which doesn't work in Poser 12 so I had to boot Poser 11 to use EZSkin; I so hope someone will update that script!). The uniforms come from an unknown source and are called male comic overlays. There's a lot in the Poser library from more than 15 years ago that my husband got from I don't know where. Heh. Yeah, you can shake it but you can't break it. Powered by a black hole, unobtainium and pure handwavium! I imagine the ship and it's internal environment as a kind of pocket universe held together as much by some kind of energy field as by nuts and bolts. Losing the collapsar drive power resulted in a less table environment now powered only by the handwavium back up batteries! Any real scientific basis for such a thing? None that teh Mollz knowz of!😁

As always, I appreciate the comment, my dear!

I'm delighted that you enjoyed this enough to comment. I expect more will follow in a day or so. As you may have discerned I like telling stories with a series of pictures and this story has a bit more to it.
