Description

The real reason Jack traded his family cow for beans was revealed in a stunning expose by the Fairy Tattler. Jack vehemently denied the rumors. "It was a man," he emphasized. When asked to describe further, Jack declined, stammering that it was dark. "I mean, really dark," he said, less convincingly. Critics pointed out that since he was going to the market that morning it shouldn't have been that dark. "Oh, it was a girl alright," an elderly leprechaun, the last surviving witness dubiously known as Tater Tot McFibber had remarked. "He was mooning over her like a lovesick puppy." The story of Jack trading a cow for 'magic' beans has confounded the living world ever since the story first came out. "It's magic beans," Jack hollered, "not just any beans!" Jack clearly missed the point that at the material time he had no inkling that they were in fact, if at all, 'magic' beans. "I just knew," he said hotly, not offering any shred of evidence as to how he came to that conclusion. Luckily, things turned out as they did and everything is as they say, history.
