It shows to me about the soul and how even old people often restricted by people predujices were once young. Another way of interpreting the art is that children often show a happy face but inside are lame and restricted also by peoplesview towards them. The child could be harbouring abuse but wears a s smile yet his body is that of an old, frail and expiring woman.
