Description
Never having lived in an area where there were Cicadas, all that I knew about them was that they appeared in masses every few years & made a lot of noise. After seeing Ken Gilliland's Cicadas I realized that they were also beautiful!

This was the year for the cicada swarm in the Washington DC area. Sparser than usual where I live but still quite noisy. They are attractive in their own way and it said that they taste good too. I haven't tried.
