Description

Sparkle Gilbert is off on another adventure after bidding his aged father goodbye for the day. He takes off in the airplane he recently won in a poker game from his old highschool buddy, the Rocketeer, Cliff Secord. They have chummed around ever since graduating, getting in and out of trouble such as the wind blows. Always exciting time with Cliff though! No sooner does Sparkle achieve a decent altitude than out of the blue, the Rocketeer shows up beside him and motions him to follow him. 'Wonder what he is up to today?' wonders Sparkle. 'Guess I'll just have to follow him and find out. They head out across the country in a southwesterly direction and fly along for about an hour at about 200mph. 'Where could he be taking me?' Sparkle wonders. 'And how is it that rocket has enough fuel for being up this long?' About that time, they pass over a moderate sized mountain range and soon, an airbase comes into sight. As they get closer, Cliff points down to it indicating that is where he wants them to land. 'I don't know about this!' thinks Sparkle! 'I don't see anything around here for quite a distance! A very remote location for an airstrip. Must be some kind of secret base or something. Not sure I like this. Getting a bad feeling about this.' he thinks. Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!

He will have to land, those Gee Bees killed their pilots when fully loaded with fuel. Something to do with the center of gravity that was off in those conditions.

He should follow his gut feelings and keep on flying. This sounds exciting but dangerous.

Hope he doesn't burn his bum with that rocket! He's too busy showing off to the pilot! Made me laugh Bill! In a good way!
