Description

Old Jeb 2 His paper is not there, but as the paper boy rides his steam scooter by, he tosses the paper, it sails through the air, and lands in the garden, far from Old Jeb's porch. "You little whippersnaper, you. I told you I want my paper on the porch. No tip for you this month. Grrrrr." Jeb screams. The delivery boy just smiles and waves. P.S. Are there paperboys any more? That was a right-of-passage as a boy went from pre-teen to teen in my youth. I had a route that ranged from 100-150 depending on the paper's promotions. My take each month was around $10-$15/month. Some customers would tip regularly, while a few others only at Christmas time, but for the most part, people didn't tip their paper boy and acted like you were a nuisance when you go to collect the money at the first of each month. The paper always went on the front porch unless otherwise asked differently. Those were the days.

Never was thing over here, though now I get unsolicited papers (glorified ads pages actually) every week. And annoyingly the council doesn't accept newsprint in the recycling. I do occasionally manage to catch the perpetrators, but bending their ear doesn't seem to stop them returning...
