Description
So, since I have a vast content library, and the rendering abilities of our favorite 3D programs have greatly improved, I decided to bring out the three oldest versions of Vicky and see how using the newer tech worked on them. I'd done this with Aliya once before, and it worked pretty well, but I've got some new tools to play with, so I tried again...
Here we have Aliya by Handspan Studios (Vicky 1 and 2); Anya by shesa- wearing 3Dream's Kimshara (Vicky 3); and finally, Danae's Dublin texture on P3d's Clarice character (Vicky 4). They're wearing a mix of old and new hair and clothing (that's when you realize you have next to nothing for Vicky 1/2 to wear! 😏) Rendered in DAZStudio with Iray...
There were a few small, odd artifacts and pokethrough when this rendered out, but I fixed them in Photoshop; added some tonal tweaks and borders; and this is the result! It did take a couple of days to get everything to where I wanted it (thanks to being on vacation this week- very few interruptions!), but I'm pretty happy how it turned out.

There are many that will say the older generations (V4 and older) are not relevant nowadays, I must disagree. It is artists like you and others that prove those "ancient" models still have quite a lot of life in them.

Thank you very much! I agree- there may be many items that won't "play nice" with the new tech, but you never know unless you try! It takes some time, but the results can be surprising! 😀

This is exemplary art. You have crashed a few borders to arrive at this fantastic piece. I have let V4 go but only because I like the way Genesis girls look. I have deleted my Poser runtime, but only through necessity. This is so very beautiful!

Thanks Steve! You're braver than I... I can't seem to part with anything! 😅 Fortunately, for now, DAZ can still read the poser files- at least to give you a base to work from. Tweaking is usually necessary though... 😉

Thanks! I've been a dedicated Poser user for years, but I'm a stickler for a realistic render engine, and Iray is FAST, so I have recently converted (at least until Poser gets all those cool Python scripts updated!) I still have my old PP2014 loaded and have had to use the latest version to convert some files that DS didn't want to handle correctly. Both great programs!
