Thank you very much, my dear friend. I used the usual volumetrics, a cube and a camera outside the cube. Nothing fancy here. To start, set refraction to 1, for volumetrics choose the distances be 400-600, SSS=0 or very very small amount and direction 0! If direction is not 0, light will not scatter omnidirectional, i.e. in all directions but, it will scatter in a preffered direction and thus will not obey the natural scattering. When direction is not 0, you may notice a deeper visibility that must be achieved the way I mentioned, that makes sense for homogenous scattering, like atmosphere light scattering. A photo shot in England with dimmer light, might have more ambient scattered light than you might have in a dryer location. To achieve the same photo light effect, you may need to compensate by waiting for having higher humidity or probably by having some dust or a denser atmosphere. Same thing happens here by setting direction to 0 and SSS to 0 or a very low value. For that you will need to run some tests to fine tune it. I hope it helped.

It may help, I guess, to have a look in Blender forums for Cycles rendering optimizations. I can't be too much of help because I have no Poser 12.
