Description
Alpha continued to touch controls and observe changes in the various system monitors. "I calculate a full return to power in no more than 5 revolutions of this planet. We have more than sufficient reserve power in the battery backup to maintain the current internal environment in our craft while the collapsar drive realigns. I submit we should simply wait out collapsar drive realignment before attempting any reconnoitering or contact with this planet's inhabitants."
"Hmm. A reasonable perspective, Alpha. Your thoughts, Beta?" As the Diplomatic officer and leader of the envoys, Prime always desired consensus.
"I disagree. It seems a shame to waste 5 revolutions of this planet sitting in our craft. We know our approximate location is remote from any population centers in terms of the natives' travel capability. I would like to do some brief scouting of the immediate area and gather some samples. I can synthesize native clothing and our neural enhancement has given us the ability to speak the language of the natives of this area on the off chance I should encounter one. You can easily monitor my safety through my implants." Beta moved toward the ramp to the lower decks.
"I think the risks involved while not zero are not great. You may proceed, Beta. Please don't do anything reckless." Prime looked toward Alpha to see her reaction to this decision but the Security officer gave no hint of her opinion as she continued to fuss over the systems of the travel disc.
"Good. I'm going to go change into some native garments." The Science Officer left the control cabin.
Molly's art notes: A little retro sci fi for a change! Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.500 using the Superfly Cycles 2 rendering engine and then tweaked a bit in Photoshop (mainly to add a subtle vignette). The ship is Cybertenko's discplane with a few material tweaks (I didn't like the glass in the dome). The discplane's location is in a Lake by 2nd World. The characters are all DAZ generation 3 dollies: V3 improved by Blackhearted's GND 2 morphs and textures, SP improved by Blackhearted's Irina 2 morphs and textures and Aiko 3 improved with some stuff from DAZ. All of the character textures were optimized for Superfly with Snarlygribbly's EZSkin 3 (which doesn't work in Poser 12 so I had to boot Poser 11 to use EZSkin; I so hope someone will update that script!). The uniforms come from an unknown source and are called male comic overlays. There's a lot in the Poser library from more than 15 years ago that my husband got from I don't know where.

Very nice story and scene of the envoys and their craft hiding-out underwater!

Thank you! Trying to get the atmosphere settings such that it looked like the disc ship was submerged about drove me nuts!
anniemation Online Now!
Wonderfully done!

Thank you, Annie. I had the devil's own time setting up the atmosphere. For some reason, I find volumetrics hard to wrap my head around.

Love it! Your underwater atmosphere really feels like you're submerged. Thing like that take a lot of tweaking, but it's worth it.

Thank you, my dear! I certainly appreciate your comment! ❤
In the next few pictures of the series one of the characters leaves the craft and goes to the surface (where lighting and atmosphere is easier) and we'll see more of your lovely content!
