Description

"I will enjoy showing Prime how well I can gather useful knowledge of this planet and it's inhabitants," Beta thought as she left the Diplomatic Officer and Security Officer on the command deck of the travel disc. At the bottom of the ramp leading off the command deck a door to the common area opened at her approach. "I can't wait to see their faces when they see the sort of thing natives wear when they are in the water of this planet. I expect it to suit me very well." She smiled with anticipation. She had an interest in archaic styles of clothing. Molly's art notes: A little retro sci fi for a change! Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.500 using the Superfly Cycles 2 rendering engine and then tweaked a bit in Photoshop (mainly to add a subtle vignette). The ship is Cybertenko's discplane with a few material tweaks (I didn't like the glass in the dome). The discplane's location is in a Lake by 2nd World. The characters are all DAZ generation 3 dollies: V3 improved by Blackhearted's GND 2 morphs and textures, SP improved by Blackhearted's Irina 2 morphs and textures and Aiko 3 improved with some stuff from DAZ. All of the character textures were optimized for Superfly with Snarlygribbly's EZSkin 3 (which doesn't work in Poser 12 so I had to boot Poser 11 to use EZSkin; I so hope someone will update that script!). The uniforms come from an unknown source and are called male comic overlays. There's a lot in the Poser library from more than 15 years ago that my husband got from I don't know where. I like where the story is going... Beta seems pretty excited to deliver info about us earthlings and, if I am getting the foreshadowing correctly, she is looking forward to try out one of the many swimsuits this planet has to offer.

Thanks you for this and some other lively comments, Ute. I look forward to the dedication image as what I've seen of your work is very creative. :)

Nicely composed image. There were some later on V3 characters that had quite fine skin textures for V3 that produce excellent renders in Firefly. Hence don't see the advantage of rendering in Superfly.

Thank you, my dear. There are a couple of advantages to Superfly for me: I can direct all rendering activity to graphics card which is much faster rendering than Firefly and Superfly does a really nice job with light emitters (all the lights in the ship are parts of the ship with a material that works a light emitter). I suspect there are a lot of other reasons to continue to improve my ability to use a physically based rendering engine but those two are the main ones for me. I still use Firefly on occasion and have used it extensively in the recent past.
