Description

Hagen von Tronje is one of the most important, but also the most opaque characters in the Nibelungenlied. On the one hand, he is the traitor and murderer of Siegfried, who is characterized by unfaithfulness and high spirits. On the other hand, he is the symbol of vassal loyalty, the exemplary and fearless leader, the epitome of honor. In the Nibelungenlied, Hagen first killed the almost invulnerable hero Siegfried at a spring in the Vosges or in the Odenwald with cunning (Kriemhild's listening), then with cunning (from behind). Super scene, Michael. He's certainly a most formidable looking character, but how in the world would one move quietly and quickly with all that armor :) He's got a nice set of teeth too.
