Description

Background: Esterházy Castle in Fertőd. It gained its present form in the second half of the 18th century, based on the ideas and plans of Miklós Esterházy (Fényes). More architects worked on it than Martinelli, Jacoby and Menyhért Hefele, but the creator of the ensemble was essentially Miklós Esterházy (Fényes). In his twenty years, the current building complex, a worthy counterpart of Schönbrunn in Vienna and Versailles in Paris, was formed in nearly twenty years. The Baroque building complex can be assessed as a unique architectural phenomenon of its time. The castle was one of the main cultural centers of Hungary at the end of the 18th century through the art-supporting activities of the Esterházy princes living here. It is also called "Hungarian Versailles". The heyday of the castle lasted from 1768 to 1790. The first large-scale ceremony was held in 1770, when the prince presented his court to the Viennese aristocracy. Made in Daz Studio. Special thanks to MysticArtDesign for free rococo hair.
