Very neat comparison. The pyramid had smooth sides and a metal cap when it was new. The high quality limestone used tp dress the sides was carried away to build the great mosques in Cairo. Still very impressive! And the space needle isn't all that shabby either. Seen both in person.

Wasn't expecting a science lesson! Nevertheless, beautiful work Bill!

The Giza pyramids would have been magnificent with the limestone facings and cap. References from the Roman era mention the lack of capstones which is hardly surprising - how long were things like that expected to remain in situ? Think I read somewhere that gunners of Napoleon's Egyptian Expedition used the Sphinx for artillery target practice. Suppose it was tempting for them, but despite being an artilleryman himself Old Boney was fascinated with Egypt and used the bee as an imperial symbol. Bet somebody got their butt chewed.

And for people who love to find secrets hidden in Pyramid measurements ... 454 is the number of grammes to the pound ... long before pounds, ounces and grammes, of course!

Nice image, but shhh, let's leave the scientists at work, they will go crazy otherwise. LOL

I had not considered before that the Space Needle appears to be two pyramids; one inverted atop the other. Each of which is not as tall as Giza. Cool concept.

That's a pretty cool size comparison! I have to wonder if the Space Needle will last as long as the pyramids at Giza...
