Ros is talking: "Starting with the mug: Nick and I have a nice little business going selling undocumented antiques, you know, no provenance, no documentation. Now and then we come across something museum quality with no papers which can't be sold for full value. We just keep them on hand hoping for a buyer who doesn't care and even then we sell at a steep discount. "Anyhow Nick shows me the mug. Says he got it very cheap from a guy who didn't know what it was worth. Says he found out where it came from. It took some persuasion to get that information. Nick can be quite persuasive if you know what I mean. Said he had a clever idea. Offer the original owner a deal. If ye buys one of our reserve items at full market price his lost mug gets returned for free, After all we saved his mug from being lost forever. And he gets something nice too even if he can't sell it. "Nick asked me to draft a sales contract. I usually do the paperwork anyway. And he suggested I hide the mug in the bottom of Emily's prop box. That way if anything goes wrong, Emily gets the blame, not us. Like I said, Nick can be persuasive, besides I can use the money."
