Yoga In The Dance Hall by KatesFriend

During lock down, Bethany has been hogging the admittedly underused local dance hall.
Greetings everybody! Yes, another shameless recycling of a previously posted Poser setup - 'Trancendence In The White Room'. But I have a defense, I revisited the scene to explore some technical ideas I had. Playing around, as is my want, this lovely piece of serendipity sprung from my screen. How could I not post it? In spite of its appearance, this is a white room rendering. A poser rendering set inside a giant one sided cylinder, "coloured" white with all specular values set to zero.1 The cylinder's group normals are reversed using the Poser Grouping Tool - the walls then face inside the cylinder with all the characters and props located within. The cylinder is also set to cast no shadows. Ray trace bounces are set to a high value such as six (6) and indirect lighting is used in the manual render settings panel. There is often only one light source. That's a white room rendering. Okay, I lied. This time the room is not literally white. For this rendering I experimented with colouring the walls - graded from light blue at the bottom to deep blue at the top. The deep blue and mostly unseen areas were accented with pin prick ambient white spots of varying intensity. I suspect that this in conjunction with the indirect lighting created the beads and blobs of light scattered through out the scene. I admit, I had no idea indirect lighting could create such an effect. In addition I added the pinkish volume light which looks like fog (or irradiated nitrogen) at the edge of the room. This was just a shameless (that word again) effort to hide the seem of the cylinder where the walls meet the floor. Something I could not otherwise make invisible. In a similar fashion to the wall colours, I graded the volume light density to be strong at the bottom but to quickly tapper off to zero after a few inches above the floor. The volume effects stay in the lower part of the picture, strongest at the edge of the room. Man! That would have been a awesome dance hall. Or planetarium. I'm pragmatic. Have a great weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by my gallery. Sorry, no nudity. Cheers!

Fine image. Proportions and balance combine to give a feeling of peace.

This really is great! Not only a lovely image, but some fun things I've not tried - in all the years I've been using Poser, there is still plenty to learn.
