it was sprayed in the street prior to replacement of a leaning street light. took more than 3 weeks for this. maybe by Spring they will replace it

Looks like gang tags.. Probably not a good area to visit at night..

Those are special markings that indicate the area is clear of utilities (gas lines, water, sewage, etc) and safe to start digging a hole in the ground.

yeah, DangerMouse4Karen has it right: We have those all over Chicago too (and you guessed it as well). But I gotta say: I've never seen THESE words before! It looks like they're spelling out a foreign language. ("Aeiro Anto cleos Spec cla"-----what?????? are they serious????? is it a message to another planet?????) Whatever it means, I love the closeup: In zoom, it's got great textures, a terrific crack right in the middle, and the paint is really bright. I love shots like this! Lotta stuff goin' on in that concrete...

Well, here they are repairing streets at neck breaking speeds. They need to be ready for the World Championship Cycling in september.
