The land here is so terrraced, with shallow pools of standing water and rough-hewn edges. The water comes from above that ridge (on the right)---fascinating place! One terrace spilling into nother...And parts of the rocks are parched dry (real contrast)...And yes: beautiful birds in states of landing, walking, chatting andd foraging, w/ one tall sentry on the far right. Love the feel of this place.

Is this spillway natural, or man-made?
Now that Teresa is in a nursing facility, and I have a little more time to myself, maybe I should take her camera down to the lake and record some of our local wildlife and post it. I'm not half the photographer you or she is, but the wildlife diversity will help make up for that, methinks.

we are above rainfall here(more than 3 inches), but can be in a drought in a short time. with major floods in El Paso, TX and Flagstaff, AZ recently, being short on water does not seem a problem, but it is a huge problem
