She emerged expecting to deal with the two burly guards. Only to be met with a hot, searing bar of flame. "Down." the voice in her head ordered, sharp as wood splintering. She barely ducked when the lance of fire whooshed over her head, singing a lock of her hair, then struck half a dozen orc, who burst into a screaming, burning ball of... She blinked. Nothingness. Unmade. Literally burnt out of existence. So that's what happened to the guards. She shook her head, not believing her eyes. The funny part was that her brain could actually process what happened. The frightening part was that she knew if she extended her hand, draw on her will, she could copy it. But how? "Not yet, child." But she wanted to, badly, not just because the orcs had killed scores of her brethren, the thought was like a knife twisting in her, but also.... Because the immense power was so tempting. "Careful, child. Don't give in. Lest it consume you." The voice had turned chilly. She even detected a trace of fear. "Well, good thing she's got excellent reflex," another voice quipped, this time out loud. "I didn't gate travel a thousand leagues just so that you can fry her ass yourself." It was the archer who spoke. She then turned to her.
