more that a few years ago there was a guy that would go out in the wilds and build these intricate stone columns usually in creeks. Some were amazing.

It's nice that people leave these 'constructions' in nature.....I think nigh23 is referring to Andy Goldsworthy, who makes eleborate constructions out of stones. There is a film about him (it shows him making these structures...it's a beautiful film). Barb/bakapo is right---one can find these towers in many places. You have a natural feeling for light and dark contrasts, and the contrasts are always very sharp and strong in your photos. Those contrasts are in this image. The dark stones near the center are in contrast with the lighter stones around it. This is like a miniature home for a forest spirit. Very thoughtfully done, Christian.
