Dug this up from one of my old sketchbooks, from back when I used to doodle much more. Must be about 20 years old...
Graphite on paper.

This is wonderful! I can't remember the last time I sat down and tried the "old fashioned" way with a #2 pencil and a piece of (gasp) paper. I'm so spoiled rotten with Photoshop and the Cintique.. I may have to use your inspiration to give the old paper & pencil route a go. Soon.
