what the heck, I haven't been here for a bit, so I'll post two...
this was taken september 21, 2010...so it's the right month. I don't know why it's so moody, but the lake has many moods, and it's always extra moody in autumn...(it's on a 2 Megapixel camera---low resolution)
(lake michigan, Chicago)

what the heck - I did the same as you today, was not here for some time and now I did posting twice in one... so funny! I like to see your sunrise over the Lake Michigan!

Such beautiful layers of colors. I like the smooth, calm sky over the choppy water. Good contrasts and good coloring. I like the mood of sunrises, the day always has so much possibility.

The color range is superb.

Beautiful, welcoming sky against the cold and unwelcoming lake water...such a beautiful palette Mother Nature offers :)

I would imagine those inland oceans do have many moods. And this is a wonderful, moody sunset. The overall coolness with the contrasting warm glow as the sun is about to sink just sets a perfect mood for the season.
Oddly, I feel like I'm ready for fall, and winter to follow. It almost seems like a time of relaxation and recuperation. Probably not - lots of stuff to do inside this winter - and I hope it's the last winter we spend here...

The sun bores brightly, unobstructed through the morning mist in this otherwise dark and deep colorful capture, Mark. Why the sun left no reflection in the choppy lake below is remarkable in its own right.

Claude Monet comes to mind. I don't know, just my first thought. It's a cool capture.
