I know people who 'hunt' for mushrooms, and they know all the toxic ones, and all the edible ones. (I don't know one from the other---which is why I'd never eat these things!) Your capture is amazing: The mushroom-head looks like ceramic. It stands like a lantern or even a strange natural 'fire hydrant' (Feuerhydrant, ja?). Wonderful closeup of one of natures strangest, oddest creatures (the mushroom). And I like your title too.
