Shots taken with camera Nikon D7000 and lens Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO Subject: circular objects (spices) Post-processings: basic photo adjustments with LightRoom and PixelMator, cutting outs of different objects with FloodFill (program made by Kassad) and Photoshop, mixing in Photoshop After a burn-out in 2019 and difficulties during the containment in 2020 and 2021, the years from 2019 to 2021 were not good years for me, so my artistic work was really affected. This series of three pictures made from photo manipulations result from a project that I started during this bad period in June 2020. Originally, my idea was to make a spiral with circular objects because I'm obsessed with circular objects and I also like spirals. But, this project has deviated. The photos have become a large collection of photos of circular objects (from spices, fruits, nuts and everyday objects). The project spanned months (about 15 months!) because the cutting took time, especially at the beginning with my lack of experience. During this period, it was actually my mind that was going around in circles. I realize now that the spiral is also a symbol of the hypnosis that I began to practice to find sleep. I'm now happy to present the results of this project. The arrangement of the last picture does not have the shape of a spiral, it is rather a scattering representing my bewilderment during this period. Its title refers to a way not to stay in this state: more living in the moment than regretting the past or anticipating the future. It is a way to close this difficult episode. I still feel its effects but I work to find a better mind. I do not forget the number of people who had worse difficulties than mine during this period such as illness, job loss, divorce, climatic disasters. Thank you for taking a look at my work.
