Very heartwarming tribute to your Great Grandfather. It must make you very proud. Very fine insight into his life and an amazing set of tools. That adjustable wrench reminds me of a wartime American issue, apart from the lack of knurl to the handle.

Great photo of this model, and wonderful history of your family, Richard.

It would be great to know more about this model: what kind of passenger carriage it is (guess it's beginning of XXth century), the original one was probably at least partly made of wood), reproduction scale (0 gauge? 1 gauge), manufacturer (Lionel? home-made?) etc. Technically, you could much improve that picture by shooting a raw file rather than a Jpg and correctly develop it in the appropriate software or using in-body HDR technique, that your Canon EOS 5D permits. This would allow a much better reproduction of dark tones, because here too much of the image appears dark and without details.
