Description

This shot is taken in our garden, the beetles were busy for a very long time, so I think she had a lot of fun together. ;-) These species of beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae. The Latin name is: Stictoleptura rubra. In Dutch: De gewone Smalboktor. Thank you very much for your look. p.s. If you look closely you see the sperm flow.

Prettig weekeinde !!

Oh I love the dutch name of this beetle. It sounds very funny. The german name is "Bockkäfer". Very nice macro shot Jacomina.

With Christian (X-paX), I also love the Dutch name of these beetles. (And "Longhorn" reminds me of cattle, lol...in the States we have Longhorn cattle.) But the picture: Wow---when I view it full size, I can see every hair, every little detail---and you caught them mating, which isn't easy to do. When insects are studied close-up, they're amazing: all those "movable parts". And such long antennae. An amazing macro...and your faded background is perfect: It's like a quiet ocean of green...
