Just tell people you are experimenting with a new DOF setting that will revolutionize photography.

full size, I imagine anyone can see the vibrations. But I'm biased because I studied piano for about 14 years (I was a classical and jazz pianist years back). So I know that thing in-and-out, lol---I can definitely see the vibes. But, aesthetically, it's almost as beautiful as if the camera hadn't jiggled: It softens the hard lines of those strings. A very pleasing sweeping shot of that unique beast. (I don't know if you know it, but those strings are pulled so taut that, if one should break, it sounds like a huge chandelier crashed on the ground. You have to hear it---you jump out of your seat! In the 1800s, the tension of those strings actually caused some pianos to cave in on themselves: They literally folded in like a book. There's a lotta tension packed into that thing...)
Richard, thank you for your note about your Barong shirt. The mask in my photo was from Bali, and the name is of a god/king who protects villages from evil. Maybe your Barong is from another culture, I don't know. If it has a face with wild and terrifying features, then it's from the same source. Thanks for telling me about it: Few people would ever know the word. (One of these days I'll post a full shot of a barong mask. It's pretty wild!)
