The plague in the Middle Ages
The plague (Latin for "pestis", epidemic) is a highly contagious infectious disease that killed more than 20 million people in Europe in the middle of the 14th century. When the plague broke out in 1347, it took a long time to figure out how to prevent the plague from spreading.
