Description
"Thank you for coming, dear living friends," Grace's voice was as soft as the rustling of falling leaves. "I am strongest here. This was my abode in life and the place where my brief time of material existence was ended."
"We could hardly refuse such a generous invitation," Professor Van Humbeek replied. "I know the effort it takes you to manifest physically, especially to more than one living entity at a time."
"Yes, many thanks, dear Grace," the Professor's sister, Dorotea added. "I count our introduction as one of the most precious moments of my life."
"Alzo thankink," Gregor chimed in.
"Of course, I'm happy about it, too!" Brook bubbled enthusiastically.
Grace's delighted mirth was as wind chimes in the Autumn breeze. "Then follow me and learn of a life stolen in it's prime..."
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.619 and tweaked for compositing ghostly Grace into the picture, color saturation and a subtle vignette in Photoshop. The setting is based on the Haunted House by Blue Tree Studio. The characters are based on morphs and textures by Tempesta3d imposed upon the La Femme, L'Homme and Dawn meshes. Flink's instant forest, trees, skys and rolling hills enhanced the background.
The characters and personalities of Elizabeth and Dorotea Van Humbeek, Gregor Bubnoff, Brooke Potts and Grace Geist are my original characters. I am so indebted to the content creators who made the meshes, morphs and textures that allowed me to bring these people to life. Briefly, Professor Elizabeth Van Humbeek is a paranormal investigator who teaches at the University of River Heights. Her elder sister, Dorotea, is a world traveler and adventurer. Brooke and Gregor are graduate students and assistants to the Professor. Grace Geist is a restless spirit that has become something of a familiar to the professor.

Oh wonderful render! Is this a new story?
MollyFootman
Thank you, Annie. Yes now I have a fourth story going... I really need to buckle down and finish one someday.

Very nice Molly. Excellent choice and use of assets and it's always great when artists use scenes to bring good original characters to life and write well enough to entice a viewer to see and read more...

Oooh! Thank you for such a positive and validating comment. I really appreciate that you took the time to let me know! <3

Fantastic work here!!!

Thank you, my dear. I'm always messing with these characters. We'll see if I can stay focused enough to finish the series of pictures I have in my mind that tells the story of Grace and her transition from a living girl near 100 years ago to the spirit that has been contacted and befriended by Professor Van Humbeek. I love all my characters and little stories and making images of them but it will be a miracle if I ever complete any of these series.

This is fabulous awesome composition and render. I find your lack of faith disturbing, though..
A most wonderful scene with great atmosphere and lighting, superb holographic ghost, delightful story, brilliant awesomer render.
Magnificent Masterpiece of Finest Arts. I love it!

Thank you for commenting, Marius. I've never tried a Ghost story before although I've been toying with these characters for awhile. I hope you might enjoy other pictures from the series if I can stay focused enough to continue.

a delightful setting and atmosphere and a great quality render with those textures
MollyFootman
Thank you, Paul. Since I've starting using the Firefly Cycles 2 rendering engine I find I do a lot of texture tweaking. The story I have in mind may be a bit too ambitious for me to complete, but I'm going to try to go a bit further with it.

Great use of your runtime here and a good read to boot :)

Thank you! I enjoy telling stories and illustrating them. I hope this one will work out but I often lose focus and fail to finish a story. But for the moment? Onward!!

Yes, onward!!! I am jumping from one thing to the next myself, why is it so hard to stick to a story sometimes? I love your genre because I also love telling stories through 3D renders. I spent days daydreaming on a story, had all the characters planned out and a part of the storyline but for now it's temporarily on hold. I do hope to get back to it once I get these Halloween renders out of the way. In any case, you are right about one thing: seize the moment! Now, on to your gorgeous render: I LOVE this POV, it gives emphasis to both the house and the characters. You have such a talent in writing and putting together these complex scenes, I find your work so inspiring! I look forward to seeing you work and will remember to come visit your gallery more often now that I realised you are not showing up in my activity feed for some reason. Hugs!

Thank you for you validation and for confiding that you, too, love story-telling but have troubles converting those wonderful tales in you head to a series of pictures! XD Dang, I feel you, sister!! We got us a bit of synergy here, maybe.
I don't know how you feel about Deviant Art but I have a lot there and find the whole communication scheme more flexible and reliable. I am looking at some other places to display my work and see the works of others but for the moment it's enough for me to try to keep up with Renderosity and Deviant Art.
I look forward to more of your vampire series... :-)

Dear Molly, for the first time in their lifes they see a real transparent ghost :-)
MollyFootman
Heh. Yes, Grace is my favorite Ghost and I love that you enjoy her transparent appearance!
