I was looking at 3D models for sale when I came across a 3D scan of a Kasli Cast Iron statuette called Boy with a Rocket that was produced in the early sixties in Russia. I thought it would make a great subject so this is the end result. The character is the "brother" of the actor I used for my Starry Night render. I used her settings as a starting point then added a full body morph using the Matt character geometry dialed to 30% to age reduce him. I'm using two lights in the scene. The "Sun" light is a white light angled sixty degrees up with an intensity of 120% and a IBL light that is also white at 80%. I also set the the gamma setting to 1.5. This is lower than I usually use for outside scenes but it helps to produce a crisp atmosphere for the render. The render is a Firefly render that is progressively scanned with ray trace set to 4, indirect light quality to 50 and pixel samples at 10
