both this and your original (thanks for the date on that!) are beautiful and rich. I used to know some of the headdresses and ornaments of the larger african tribes (incl the masai) but I remember woefully little now...but god, what a wondrous array of decoration you got. Your original has a beautiful burnt-brown light, her skin is gorgeous, and those reds and greens (complementary hues, therefore wonderfully contrasting) are as african as they get: They have dyes in E. Africa that are to out-and-out die for: I've never seen anything like them in any other culture. You got them in the original. Beautiful hues.

In the DD version, you've gotten all kinds of cells and vines...and the gown and everything else has taken on a carnival. The metal trinkets around her mouth are now like lights and creatures, and the sky has been filled with oil-paint pastels. Kind of an inner vision of the original, what the woman feels deep inside (or what she's want to feel). I rummaged around those older gallery pages when I looked this up, and lord you have so much rich stuff there, whoosh...I'll comment on a few in the coming weeks...you even had occasional pieces that are takeoffs of old photographs--beautifully done!--and a cornucopia of peoples from all over the world and time. Quite a gallery, Barb.
